Independence Day Celebration at St. Joseph Convent School, Whitefield

St. Joseph Convent School, Whitefield, came alive with pride, devotion, and joy as the school community gathered to celebrate a day of triple significance. The occasion marked the 79th Independence Day of India, the Solemnity of the Assumption of the Blessed Virgin Mary, and the Foundation Day of the Sisters of St. Joseph of Tarbes.

The morning began with the escort of the Chief Guest by the school band, followed by the flag hoisting and the National Anthem that filled the air with patriotic spirit. A meaningful prayer service set the tone for the day, reminding everyone to live in faith, humility, unity, and service.

The cultural program was a vibrant blend of performances. The Kannada medium students captivated the audience with their energetic performance, and the high school students stirred patriotic feelings through a powerful dance. Speeches by the student representatives inspired all to value the hard-won freedom of our nation.

The highlight of the day was the address by the Chief Guest, Major Paul Devassy — an Army officer, corporate leader, and transformational coach — whose words motivated the students to dream big and serve the nation with pride. The celebration concluded with a heartfelt vote of thanks, leaving everyone with renewed love for the country and gratitude for the sacrifices that made this freedom possible.
